The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a durational performance piece  exploring the gap between past and present. Part book reading, part deconstructed DJ set, part marathon and part theatre, this is a one-time-only performance not to be missed.

Using Tobe Hooper's film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre as a starting point, Josiah Morgan, Bea Gladding and Shaun McTague explore queer futurity by applying a radical, destructive lens to the past.

In 2022 Josiah Morgan published his book 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,' a forensic survey embracing the cinematic delirium of Tobe Hooper. The book was a "heady and queer collation of confession, ultraviolence and countless paraphilias, radical in every way."

This performance tears the book apart, finding new ways to be optimistic about the future by putting the past in a blender and seeing what comes out the other side.

Tickets purchased provide access to the venue for the full six hours and attendees can arrive or depart at any time for the duration of the performance.

    5/5 stars

This is so good. How do you separate fact from fiction? Answer: you can't (always).... [The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is] grounded in reality, but then [the artists] render it into something broaching on the edge of unfamiliarity...(?) So cool! That's what this...does, over and over and over and over and over.
