Ever wanted to turn your coming out or first Queer love story into a zine? Here’s your opportunity! Get a taste of zine-making by learning how to make a one-page folded zine to draw, write and collage your story. Proudly hosted by Auckland Zinefest, all the materials you need for the making will be provided, if you can’t think of the story you want to tell you can be guided by creative prompts.
Auckland Zinefest is a celebration of creativity and self-publishing, based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Aotearoa. A local hub for zine culture run by volunteers, local zine-makers and creatives, they organise community events and activities that share and support DIY-publishing in Auckland and beyond since 2009.
The biggest event is the annual Zinefest market day, where scores of zine-makers gather to share their work, inspire others, and connect with fellow zine-makers and creatives.

Auckland Zinefest is cosying up in the same space as comedian James Hilary Penwarden, who will be performing at 12pm.
