Insider Outsider

Bend the rules around using ‘your inside voice’ when you pop into Mt Albert Library for an engaging literary chat. Jade du Preez, author of Outsider, will lead a conversation exploring connections with Japan, focusing on queerness, art and the magic of libraries.

Drawing from her work, du Preez will highlight the importance of creating and sharing stories as part of identity building, particularly for fellow ‘outsiders.’ For lovers of literature, she will share personal reading recommendations - all available through Auckland Libraries.

Attendees will be welcome in a safe space to share their ideas and join in the conversation about bridging gaps and amplifying marginalized voices. Readers, writers, and supporters who enjoy free catering are all invited.
