In promoting the need to take time out and make together, Whānau Drop-in at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is designed to allow everyone the chance to disengage with the daily stressors and pressures of the outside world and engage with making.
Whanāu Pride activities culminate in a collective project building a colourful Pride-filled korowai that will be displayed in the North Atrium. This collective work will be made of individually coloured paper feathers with a message of love and a wish for a brighter future. Visitors are encouraged to make a feather for themselves to wear and a feather to weave into the cloak, tying in to the theme of the 2021 Auckland Pride Festival Karanga Atu Karanga Mai (call to me call to us).
Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is fully accessible
Anyone and everyone is welcome, children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult
