Pride & Spark Empowerment Initiative Deadline Extended

The submission deadline to the Pride & Spark Empowerment Initiative has been extended, with a second round of funding announced to provide additional resource, support, and certainty to event producers in the 2021 Auckland Pride Festival.

Due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 on our events and arts industries, we wanted to ensure that our artists and event producers had as much time as possible to apply for funding to make their events a reality. Conversely, we also wanted to ensure that those who had already applied received the certainty of funding in mid November.

Important Pride & Spark Empowerment Initiative Dates:

Round one closes:
1 Nov 10pm
Round one results: 18 Nov
Round two closes: 29 Nov 10pm
Round two results: 16 Dec

This second round of funding will continue to allow the Pride & Spark Empowerment Initiative to resource our diverse communities, ensure that new voices can participate in Pride, and mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 on our event producers.

We’re incredibly grateful to our friends at Spark NZ for increasing the pool of funding this year, and can’t wait to get funding out the door to support our community. If you have any further questions about the Pride & Spark Empowerment Initiative, please get in touch with the team at [email protected]

Submissions for the Proud Centres and Event Registrations remain open, and will also close on November 29. Q Theatreand Basement Theatre Submissions are also open. For more information on Festival Registrations, visit aucklandpride.org.nz/register
