Job Title: Director of Pride
Reporting to: Executive Board of Auckland Pride Festival Incorporated
Salary: $83,200 (pro rata)
Hours: 30 hours per week (initially)
Auckland Pride is looking to grow. From a straightforward festival and parade first held in 2013, the scope and complexity of the events, as well as the organisations role within Rainbow communities, has increased. Community engagement, relationships with key stakeholders and operational processes are day to day areas that the Board of Auckland Pride would like to improve, as well as long term financial and strategic planning of the organisation.
The new role of Director of Pride will lead Auckland Pride into the future, working in partnership with the Board on long term strategy and key relationships, as well as overseeing all operational activities of the organisation and enabling a greater community voice. Where contractors are used in the future to deliver the festival and its core events, these will report to the Director.
This new role will suit a motivated individual who is comfortable being a highly-visible leader within Auckland’s Rainbow communities. It offers a unique opportunity to work at high levels of both government and business, and alongside our many grassroots community organisations. The ideal candidate will dream big about the future role that Auckland Pride can play in Tāmaki Makaurau, and how this benefits our Rainbow, Māori, Pasefika and all other communities in this rohe.
Excellent communication skills, previous relevant experience and a can-do attitude are a must.
Note: while this role is advertised at 30 hours per week initially, it is anticipated that as the organisation grows under your leadership this role will expand to be full time.
