Now Seeking OurMarch Producer

Job Title: OurMarch Producer
Reporting to: Director of Pride
Location: Auckland
Fee: $15,000 (schedule of payments to be agreed)
Hours: 500 (lifetime – allocation of hours to be agreed)
Period: 2 September 2019 – 6 March 2020

Key focus areas for the role are:

  1. Produce a larger, more diverse, community-centred OurMarch through Auckland
  2. Produce a more vibrant OurParty with greater audience and community performance
  3. Effectively manage the event and its operational aspects to ensure success.
  4. Work with our diverse communities to remove barriers to maximise participation

The Auckland Pride Festival’s scope and reach is growing. OurMarch is the landmark event for the 2020 Festival organised by Auckland Pride. The introduction of #ourmarch in 2019 provided Auckland with a beautiful, community-centred evolution of the Parade. The shift in purpose from spectating to participating resulted in a grassroots, accessible, authentically-queer event. We want to build on the success of the 2019 March.

We are looking for a March Producer who will be able to build the size and scope of the March, making it a highlight of the Auckland Pride Festival. The Producer must be an experienced event producer, and one who will be able to deliver a high quality event for Auckland’s queer communities.

The March Producer’s responsibility will be the successful delivery of OurMarch and OurParty. They will work alongside the Festival and Gala Producers, and working with and reporting to the Director of Pride. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering similar events, be familiar with the kaupapa of #ourpride established in 2019, and have a vision for how we can maximise the reach and impact of the 2020 March and Party.
