Now Seeking Festival Producer

Job Title: Festival Producer
Reporting to: Director of Pride
Location: Auckland
Fee: $24,900 (schedule of payments to be agreed)
Hours: 830 (lifetime – allocation of hours to be agreed)
Period: 2 September 2019 – 6 March 2020

Key focus areas for the role are:

  1. Curate an immense, diverse programme of events for the 2020 Auckland Pride Festival
  2. Facilitate the inclusion and development of new/emerging event organisers
  3. Produce and distribute marketing materials for the 2020 Auckland Pride Festival

The Auckland Pride Festival’s scope and reach is growing. The programme of events will take the festival all over Tāmaki Makaurau, and more authentically reflect the diversity of our queer communities. Auckland Pride is committed to ensuring that the 2020 Pride Festival is more accessible to all, and has a more diverse festival programme – empowering our communities to participate like never before.

The Festival Producer’s primary responsibilities will be curating the festival, working with our community to program events, and promoting the festival. They will work alongside the March and Gala Producers, and working with and reporting to the Director of Pride.

This role will suit a person with extensive experience in the arts and with our communities, who has experience working for festivals and is able to build on existing relationships to increase the size, scope and reach of the 2020 Festival and beyond. The ideal candidate will have engaged with Auckland Pride before, bring with them a passion for the work we do, as well as a vision on how we can use the festival to maximise the impact we have on positive outcomes for our communities.
