The Auckland Pride Festival is an open-access arts, cultural, and community Festival. It’s comprised of major events delivered by Auckland Pride, such as OurGala, OurMarch, and OurParty, and events produced by artists, community organisers, and organisations.
Auckland Pride is a membership driven, democratic organisation that is lead by its board. Auckland Pride hold regular community hui (meetings) with its membership to ensure its direction is guided by Tāmaki Makaurau’s rainbow communities.
2020 was Auckland Pride’s largest festival to date, with over 150 events and an audience of more than 60,000 between the 1st and 16th of February. 75% of events were free, they were more regionally dispersed, and had a renewed focus under the festival’s theme of Our Liberation, Our Celebration, Our Pride.
Auckland Pride’s signature event, OurMarch saw over 7,000 of our community participate in an energetic, community-led hīkoi that celebrated our rainbow communities and pushed for change in Aotearoa and beyond.
